Oddball Animals – COB January 28, 2018

cob-bannerCee’s Oddball Challenge is for those photographs that don’t really fit into a common category. There is no theme to this challenge; what is odd ball is up to you. For this weeks challenge, I pulled out some old photos with an Animal Theme. More vacation photos.

What an inviting place to sit!

For this week, I have chose some odd vacation photos. The  “Kokopelli” below was discovered in Tucumcari, New Mexico.

“Scrappy” is an unusual elk to be sure. Taken when we stopped for gas, somewhere in South Dakota.

Many towns have taken to painting murals on the sides of old buildings to commemorate the town’s history and culture. I can’t remember the town, but the two below were taken in Colorado.

CCFC – The Letter J

CCFC – The Letter J

It’s Saturday morning and although I have a million things I need to do, I took some time to have a little fun with Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge. This week is Letter J. The rules are the photo subject must be least 6 letters long. The “J” can be anywhere in the word, and using an adjective to extend the length of the word is perfectly OK. I had lots of ideas but couldn’t find time to photograph so I had to settle for some vacation photos. There is always next week.

Many thanks to Cee’s Photography for providing the opportunity to play around with photography in a creative way.  If you are interested in joining Cee’s Letter Challenge, check out this link Challenge

My first ‘J’ photo is Alligator Jaws. This was taken in Belize.

The next “J” is beautiful Jamaica. This was taken from the top steps of Rose Hall, the home of the famous ‘White Witch of Rose Hall’.

My last ‘J’ is Juneau, Alaska and the Mendenhall Glacier.

Warmth (Day 9)

Warmth (Day 9)

Before last summer, I had never been to Nebraska. Frankly, I never wanted to go to Nebraska because I pictured it flat and boring with nothing to see. The only reason for visiting Nebraska (in my mind) was to check it off my ‘Visit all 50 states’ bucket list. As far as I was concerned, the drive from Oklahoma to South Dakota last summer could clip the tip of Nebraska, and I would be happy.

Our trip took us further into Nebraska than I hoped and  I was delightfully surprised. Nebraska was nothing like I imagined. For Day 8, I chose a photo of the warm, golden fields of the Nebraska grasslands.
